SMILE HARBOUR Dental practice & implant clinic
Clinicians

The same faces, year after year.

Nine of us, all GDC-registered, most here longer than a decade. You will be seen by the clinician who planned your treatment, not whoever is free that afternoon. There is no associate rota and no locum cover.

Portrait of the practice principal

Dr Rhys Meredith

Principal · Implants & reconstruction

Bought the practice in 2007 and has been in the same surgery since. Places and restores every implant here himself, which is unusual and deliberate. Trained at Kingsford, then the Royal College diploma in implant dentistry.

Dr Catrin Lloyd

Aligners & smile design

Joined in 2014 and now runs all the orthodontic and cosmetic work. Has a particular interest in adult patients who were told as teenagers that nothing could be done, and a habit of recommending less treatment than people expect.

Elin Prosser

Dental hygienist & therapist

Twelve years here. Runs the periodontal programme and is the reason our recall intervals are set by risk rather than by the diary. Also the person most likely to talk you out of whitening until your gums are settled.

Nia Bowen

Treatment coordinator

Answers the telephone, books the appointments and rings you back the same working day. If you are nervous about getting in touch at all, Nia is the person you actually want to speak to first.

The rest of the team

And five more you will meet.

Two further dental nurses, a second hygienist, a practice manager and a resident anaesthetist who attends for sedation lists. All GDC-registered where registration applies, all DBS-checked, and all on the payroll rather than on an agency book.

Continuity is the whole point. It is why the same nurse is usually in the room for your treatment, and why the person who takes your call in March remembers you in October.

Registration & regulation

Where to check us.

01

General Dental Council. Every clinician's registration number is published above and can be searched on the GDC register.

02

The healthcare inspectorate. The practice is registered and inspected, and inspection reports are public.

03

Complaints. In writing to the practice manager, acknowledged within three working days. Details on request and displayed in reception.

Ask for whoever you like.

If you would rather see a particular clinician, say so when you book and we will arrange it. It may mean waiting a fortnight longer.
